Status usług MyDevil.net http://status.mydevil.net Status usług oferowanych przez serwis MyDevil.net, oraz informacje i aktualności. http://status.mydevil.net/status,36.html http://status.mydevil.net/status,36.html Shell server migration (ssh.mydevil.net) We would like to inform about scheduled downtime of the MyDevil.net shell server. Due to technical reasons, we are migrating to a new, better server. The migration will begin at 27.01.2012 (friday) at 00:30 and should take about 4 hours.

Some important information about the migration:

- The main IP address (91.121.145.179) will change. The new address is 178.33.182.1. The rest of our IPs (vhosts) will not change. Our IPv6 addresses will also change - our new subnet is 2001:41d0:2:fa1d::/64.

- Domains that use our DNS system will be updated automatically. Users who use remote DNS servers must change proper entries by their own - it can be done now (the new address will redirect http connections back to the old until we will finish).

- The ssh.mydevil.netaddress will still work correctly - if anybody used a CNAME in his domain to this address, he does not have to worry about anything.

The new server will be supplied with a bigger amount of RAM memory (24 GB) and two additional SSD drives, which on our configuration will make the server fast as hell ;-)

Of course, this post will be updated as soon as we will finish. We apologize for any inconvienence.

We apologize for any inconvienence.

EDIT (05.01.2012 01:23):

The reboot was delayed for a while, but everything works fine now.

http://status.mydevil.net/status,20.html http://status.mydevil.net/status,20.html MyDevil.net follow-up We have enabled access logs for our users. If we wish to, we can easily check who is visiting our website - proper files (containing that data) will be created in our domain directory.

These files need to be created manually, and proper permissions should be granted - otherwise logging is 'disabled'. We can enable it by invoking these commands:

mkdir ~/domains/example.com/logs touch ~/domains/example.com/logs/access.log chmod o+rwx ~/domains/example.com/logs/access.log

o+rwx permissions allow our httpd server to write to that file. By removing these permissions (by invoking chmod o-rwx) we will disable log writing. File rotation should be done by ourselves, for instance: by using newsyslog utility.

We are also working on enabling error logs for users, which will contain information about invalid .htaccess file configuration.

http://status.mydevil.net/status,18.html http://status.mydevil.net/status,18.html MyDevil.net - english release Hi!

So, we've decided to release an english version of MyDevil.net and open ourselves to foreign customers. We hope that you will enjoy it ;)

We would like to point out that we are a Polish company, and our crew is Polish - that is why there might be some language mistakes on the website, or in our messages, but we hope that our english will be good enough and you will be able to understand us. Of course, we are open for any suggestions and we will be glad if you'll point out any language mistakes found on our website, so that we can easily change them to be correct ;)

We have launched a whole new english-only website, available here. All english users will have their motd translated, as well as devils output.

We hope that you'll enjoy our new services ;)
